Establishment of Market Information System (MIS) for Fruits Value Chain

Overall Objective:
The overall objective the project is to establish a MIS which will contribute to improve the access of fruits to the national and international/regional markets strengthening the information access of the involved actors with regard to market prices, quantities and quality standards.

Specific objective:
1. To increase the competitiveness of the fruit sector by promoting and facilitating market access, transparency of agricultural markets in the country, creating links to network members (MIS), or marketing chains through experiences, knowledge, information and services aimed at improving skills, quality and transparency of information system service in our country
2. To increase the transparency of markets by providing current pricing information to small farmers who historically do not receive market prices due to their rural locations and lack of contact with other stakeholders in the chain value of their products
3. To serve the needs of government and beyond, NGOs or donor agencies that are interested in increasing market transparency, introducing standards in open markets, and intervening in fruit value chains to devise strategies to combat informality in the market

Main results expected
1. Establishment of an ITC-based Platform MIS for Fruits VC
2. Introduction of a systemized approach for information collection and dissemination
3. Increased access of the fruit products to national and international markets.
